“Ivy’s Big Adventure” Lets Young Readers Buzz Into Nature, Kindness, and Hands‐On Fun
Malaga, Spain – 18 June 2025 – Families looking for a screen‐free way to spark curiosity, build empathy, and get little hands moving now have a new must‐read: “Ivy’s Big Adventure,” a 49‐page interactive picture book that follows Ivy, a young honeybee, on her very first flight beyond the hive.
Written and illustrated with both children and adults in mind, the book weaves movement prompts, sound effects, mazes, colouring pages and “I Spy” games into a lyrical story about teamwork and friendship. Readers can “waggle dance”, flap their “wings,” and hunt for hidden details-turning every page into a mini adventure that supports social‐emotional growth, early numeracy, and fine‐motor skills.
“I wanted kids to fall in love with nature the same way Ivy does-and to practice kindness while they play,” said John Wheatley, author of Ivy’s Big Adventure. “If children see bees as helpful, fascinating creatures instead of something to fear, we plant the seeds for lifelong environmental stewardship.”

Here at Villa Carmen Bees, we’re more than just beekeepers – we’re a family of nature lovers who’ve fallen head over heels for our buzzing little friends. From the moment we started this journey, our hearts have been set on creating a safe haven where bees can thrive and families can discover the amazing world of these tiny pollinators.
Picture this: a place where parents and kids can learn together about the magic happening inside a beehive, where every garden visitor becomes part of our mission to protect these precious pollinators, and where the sweet hum of happy bees fills the air. That’s what we’re all about!
Our family of bee enthusiasts work with nature, not against it. We use gentle, organic practices that keep our bees healthy and our environment clean. Whether you’re a curious kid, a gardening enthusiast, or simply someone who loves honey, we’d love to share our passion with you.
Come join our Villa Carmen family as we work together to create a better world for bees – and for all of us who depend on them. After all, every little bee needs a village, and every village needs its bees!
